Animal-Processed Coffee Has Wide Popular Appeal
Would you believe people pay more than $1,400 (in U.S. dollars) for one pound of coffee beans? It’s true! A harvest of Motit Coffee in the Philippines garnered this price in 2009. And Civet coffee has also been sold for $100 per cup!
For this reason Civet coffee can truly be called the most expensive coffee on Earth! In the past it has also been one of the rarest coffees though the increasing market worldwide has led to more producers in such countries as Vietnam, the Philippines, Indonesia, and East Timor.
While a price nearer to about $300 per pound is more reasonable for Civet coffee, it depends upon the supplier.
In that regard you will have to check to make sure you are getting the real thing. And just because you pay more doesn’t mean you have a higher chance of not being duped with some coffee beans that were merely rubbed around in some Civet dung.
