Semi-Washed Processing

Demucilaging in the Semi-Washed Processing Method

The semi-washed method of coffee processing involves using a demucilaging machine to remove the skin of the coffee cherry as well as some or most of the mucilage.

Characteristics of Coffee with Semi-Washed Processing

Coffee beans that have been processed with the semi-washed method are somewhat similar to coffee processed with the pulped natural method and also similar to wet processed coffee, exhibiting a bright, clean cup with a bit less body than dry processed coffee.
